Wolf Warrior

Not very dissimilar from the hordes of American patriotic military movies that people have a fun time hating. But mainland China's been honing it's jingostic movie chops longer than people give them credit for. This one is no worse than it's western counterparts, except that the action has a tad lower production value. Even still, I've never held a grudge to these kinds of mindless action movies, they have their place.

The sweatiest man alive is China's best super soldier who gets shot upwards of 7 times without it affecting him in any way. Lucky for him all the bad guys are using the kind of explosives that just throw people through the air and not the kind that tear them apart into a gory mess. Enough badass moments for this to be a good deal of fun and not enough terrible CGI to ruin it.

I quite enjoyed most of it. Stupid, unrealistic and unnecessary CGI wolves & idiotic Chinese virus plot nonsense. Fights are very good, and overall the production value is quite good. Well worth watching. It wasn't great that all the bad soldiers are American. Really lame that he's shot several times but it doesn't affect him in the slightest. Good music & sound. Good video production, good action & pacing. Just a few ridiculous and unnecessary flaws that nearly ruins it.

Pretty colours could not draw attention away from its dull storytelling and definite lack of "breathtaking martial arts".

I like this movie all though I must admit it wasn't what I was hoping for. I was hoping for crazy action and a lot of martial arts action what I got instead was a pretty good military drama for the first hour and then military maneuvers and action for the rest with two short but entertaining martial arts fights. As I said not bad just fell short of my expectations.

Chinese military propaganda has a long way to go to match the soaring roaring epic melodrama of American military propaganda but this is a good start. Marketed here as a martial arts film when its absolutely not. Still good action in the gunplay even if one scene was badly directed and looked like the Chinese were firing on themselves. Good film for action junkies. I wonder if there's a Chinese version of acdcs thunderstruck that could be in the next film like this

Feels mostly like Chinese military propaganda. Definitely nothing more then a B-action movie with a lot of shooting going on. It's like the armor and bullets have more personality then the characters in it.

I knew it would be some military onanism, and that type of movie I know how it goes so it wasn't the problem. The problem was the painful melodrama, how boring it was in spite of all the action scenes, how dumb, how useless the fakeout endings are. Some of the fight at the end is interesting but way too short. Knowing they almost killed the main actor a few times for this makes it worst. There are some awful CGI wolves attacking at random, that's how stupid it is.

Pretty well-staged action and enjoyable film as far as military operations go -- this literally goes from an exercise to actual fight -- specially if you manage to ignore the ugly nationalism -- "I fight for China" badge, Adkins saying "you know what I fight for? money!" and other naive shit -- and just focus on the solid, bloody action scenes all around. Hollywood really should get the lesson that regarding actioners, the less exposition, the better.

Wolf warrior is a chinese movie made in the style of mid-budget Hollywood action film. Instead of admiring the individual i.e. Rambo's muscles; here the team does everything together.Ribald marching chants, ogling the lady commander and fighting for china.Jing Wu (the sweatiest action star of china) plays the new sniper recruit under threat from the GOAT of Straight-to- VOD Action, Scott Adkins.Here he plays a American mercenary who only cares about money.Too bad for CGI- Blood squib effects.

a chinese take on military porn action. to be frank, the propaganda is lighter than the average American action movie. mostly good action, though not every scene is a hit. some funny moments mixed in for a decently entertaining flick
