Women Who Kill

This concept sure interested me and I thought it might be a nifty morbid watch, but this film eschews its early set-ups of serial killer fascinations in the podcast world for something more contrived and uninteresting. The humour is flat, quite a bit of the acting is nowhere near good enough (except for the fat dykey friend), and the best I can say about this film is that its fairly well framed.

Passable but ultimately surprisingly bland spin on SINGLE WHITE FEMALE-like slashers; the opening scene with O'Toole's delightfully sinister jail bird promises something much edgier. Biggest problem is ultimately a dire lack of chemistry or charisma between Jungermann, Carr and Vand, which makes it difficult to become invested once the mystery plot kicks in. As director, Jungermann makes no real impression, favouring a 90s TV aesthetic, despite the widescreen.
