Reminds me of that scene when they are all in the woods in Dazed and Confused. Probably shouldn't have been released as it looks like some home footage but still kinda cool to see what Linklater could do with super 8, even if it wasn't much.

Great footage of people just having tons of fun outdoors listening to music, cooking all manner of fried meats, and getting drunk and/or stoned. Unfortunately, that's all it really is, and due to its short length nothing is really able to be fleshed out except "we're having fun, this is pretty damn cool". Also includes a young and characteristically nervous Daniel Johnston pitching his breakout album, so that's something, I suppose.

Watching this in 2023, I guess the participants would now all be about sixty or thereabouts. Rock on.

Basically a home-movie from a local Texas music festival that happened to be made by a director that eventually figured out he had way more interesting things to say than this. I'm sure Austin locals fucking loved it...

my god. yes, i am judging these people from the computer chair of my parents' upper-middle-class home. no surprise that this was linklater's first short.
