Presenting the arguments rather than showing the conflicts means it takes a long time to capture the viewer's attention, and often seems unnecessarily repetitive (and bizarrely preoccupied with counting the number of people who left and/or came back), but ultimately it succeeds in conveying a sense of the complexity of perspectives and the efforts to negotiate them in difficult circumstances.
