World of Tomorrow Episode Three: The Absent Destinations of David Prime

Better than the second, about on par with the first. It's a little less funny with less jokes per capita than the first but the plot--part romance, part thriller--is better and less "we just monologue for the whole time." This is a great trilogy though. Fantastic animation and humour that ranges from silly to subtle to more complicated. Emotional as well.

My favorite entry in the series so far. Keeps up the delightful weirdness of the animation and the sci-fi ideas, while actually managing to tell a compelling and self-contained story on top of that.

Has anyone ever watched a Don Hertzfeldt cartoon and thought "what this needs is more plot"?
