It's like if Ron Burgundy from Anchorman wrote & directed his own movie. On one hand, a truly fascinating psychological portrait of what someone apparently thinks women find sexy. I.e. utterly revolting - like so many films of this ilk. Yet, somehow, Valmont & Dangerous Liaisons did it perfectly. In contrast to those shining bastions of quality, this flick it's like being in the mind of a spoiled horny 13 yr old boy. Poor Madeleine Stowe!

Premise of the movie does border on crass and if it was made today it would be nightmare to watch. But it is 80s. Harmon plays predatory type, but he is charming, funny and not completely ruthless in his date game. This could work only in the 80s and it is. Oh and Madeleine Stowe is beautiful here.
