Wrinkles the Clown

A relatively intriguing documentary of what, at first glance, seems like a hoax. But after about 45 minutes, it switches gears to show you, yes, it was all a hoax, only apparently it wasn't worth a whole documentary, so the film makers decided they needed to mislead the audience for half the movie. Filling your documentary with half fiction is just bad for business.

It's not quite as in depth as some might like. There's some touches on the history of clowning, why we react to them the way we do, and some interviews with psychologists and other clowns critical of Wrinkles activity. There's also some short profiles of kids who are fans of Wrinkles. I think we might want to keep an eye on those kids. But it's actually a great look at how urban legends take off and inspire others in unexpected ways. Worth a watch.

Wrinkles the Penis

The segments with the kids were cute, portraying something they're passionate about and allowing them to express themselves, etc., but this is just a really badly constructed documentary, really. It's 75 minutes long but feels tediously long.
