Much like "The Hills Have Eyes" this isn't the best movie to ever hit the horror genre, but this does provide some creepy moments and it's a quick burn. Hell, I think it plays into some of its limitations. Unfortunately, when you're a semi-rip off of another movie, you're gonna run into the same issues. Ultimately, this is just a typical B-rate horror flick with bad acting and unlikeable leads, which kinda plays into the tropes of this genre it you ask me. Could be worse.

A trio of eco-conscious country dwellers teach the youth of a greed-driven consumer culture the merits of self-sufficiency and a lifestyle based on the simple mantra of waste-not-want-not. Or, the "superhuman-mutant-hillbillies-eat-people-and-store-their-shit-in-mason-jars" movie.

Wrong Turn is a very unoriginal and not particularly enjoyable horror movie. It reminds me a lot of The Hills Have Eyes, except that it takes place in a forest and it's not the least bit scary. The only time it got even a little bit thrilling was when its annoying characters were getting killed off -- and that's not intentional on the filmmaker's part. The only positive I have to say about Wrong Turn is that the makeup was quite effective at turning ordinary people into deformed mutants.

One of the better films of this genre. Dushku and Harrington are the best part of this film that suffers mainly from the bad guys being too hilarious to be taken seriously. Watch at your own risk.

Very generic, with a typical forest setting, Hills-Have-Eyesish villains, hotties who maintain perfect hair and makeup and never break a sweat, before getting picked off one by one, and a host of other cliches. That said, it's much better made than most of its ilk, musters up some good tension and dread, and blessedly avoids excessive gallows humor, snarky deconstructionism, allegorical pretense, and other such smart-alecky nonsense. I appreciate that it just wants to be good at what it does.

The third time I've watched this, for some reason! If hillbilly horror is your thing, Wrong Turn has got it in droves, but there's little to recommend beyond the general concept. Even at like 80 mins including lengthy opening/closing credits, it feels padded.

Schlocky "hillbilly horror" entry knows what it's doing, and does a decent job of not disgracing itself, if never really standing out from the pack. Chief interest here is the makeup design on the hillbillys, which manages to be both grotesque and realistic looking (even in the harsh light of day); Harrington and Dushku are fine (and cheerable) protagonists.

If you're not a completionist, skip and go straight to the second one. I mildly appreciated this for taking me back to the early 2000's when Eliza Dushku (honorable mention to Elisha Cuthbert) was the hottest woman on the planet in my fevered teenage mind.

Ok, so no one is reinventing the wheel here, you get exactly what you'd expect, a cross between Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hills Have Eyes except this quickie horror title is actually pretty entertaining thanks to top editing and that white tank top. Sure, you get your basic cardboard stupid characters and the average nasty mutant hillbillies but I could think of another 8,000 worse ways to spend a brisk 84 minutes.

Actually not horrible, if you ask me. A couple of good, tense scenes, especially the one, where they're locked in the cabin. Overall though it's all too formulaic and predictable.

Thrilling and ferociously entertaining, Wrong Turn is very similar to the 1970's cult classic "The Hills Have Eyes". A group of friends ends up stranded in the middle of nowhere and ends up being terrorized by a group of crazed, inbred lunatics. Excellent!

Big up à Eliza Dushku.

Stage designs, props and lights are not good. And if you're doing a horror at least you should create a nice atmosphere. And the story was like oh, even my 5 years old nephew has guessed what is going to happen. WT2 and WT3 are better than this. Those are not that good but not that bad either. * Casting, Acting : 2 * Script : 1 * Directing, Aura : 2 * Ease of Viewing : 4 * Naked Eye : 3

Just as useless and predictable as you might expect. The main characters were dumber than the ostensibly inbred villains. Obviously written, directed, and created by people who have never spent any time in rural areas. Seriously, the scariest thing in this movie is painful-looking push-up bras the ladies are wearing.

The bad guys in this movie are too silly-looking to be taken seriously, and not silly enough to be campy. They just look dumb. Not nearly as dumb, however, as some of the things our heroes do to try to escape from them. This movie is neither gory enough nor clever enough nor scary enough to be worthwhile even to diehard slasher fans.

First of the Wrong Turn movies and the only one what i watched. Familiar plot which shows us city slickers adventures in woods. So basically it depends on the fact that citizens are a afraid to go to woods as there is most likely some freaks who slice them up. Couple of good scenes, otherwise lame.
