This film reminded me how much of a chokehold Leslie Nielsen had on me in the 90s. If I saw him on the cover, I would rent the film. And, I am pretty sure this is the film I saw the most from his filmography. Which, now being an adult with taste, never feels as good as the Naked Guns. Luckily, this is the type of film where if one or two jokes don't land, there's another five in the next thirty seconds that may make you chuckle.

Admit it. You've seen this movie. You wanted to think it was funny. You might even have laughed at a few of the jokes, but at some point during the movie, you thought...doesn't this movie lessen the value of every Naked Gun movie ever made?

I think the first half is much funnier than the second. Only just more than half the jokes work; the others are cringe-worthy or go for Family Guy lengths of overlong. But the good jokes offer up some pretty out-there and hilarious set-pieces. Leslie Nielson isn't the best comedian, but when he's good, he's Leslie Nielson.

I'm not sure why I do it. I found this shit funny when I was 13, but alas, I'm not 13 anymore. But I can't help but wonder who the target audience for these movies was? The jokes are so predictable and low brow. Also, fuck Rob Schneider.

Gets off to a relatively strong start with a lot of great gags, but soon falls into a mediocre slump and by the end is tedious to the point of being nearly excruciating. Certainly there are some moments worth watching in here, but not an overall success.

Far from being one of the worst of Nielsen's comedies, still, it lacks refinement. The Airplane formula can't possibly work when most of the jokes aren't funny.

Weak and oddly confusing comedy in the same vein as all the others.

I laughed so hard in the cinema. Maybe a lot more than I would today. But still - this is such a lot of fun.

Zucker/Abrahams collaborator Proft finally tried his hand at directing in 98, and the unfortunate result was Wrongfully Accused, a mediocre spoof film released at the tail end of the genre's original life cycle, before the Wayans' stepped in and took over. As a director he displays none of Zucker or Abrahams' gift for comic timing or visual puns, and he is too preoccupied with dull plot mechanics. The Usual Suspects parody involving bait and tackle items is inspired nonsense though.

If you enjoy the Leslie Nielsen style of comedy film which is a non-stop stream of bad puns, sexual innuendoes and parodies, held together by a very flimsy storyline, then you should appreciate this. It's about as polished as the genre gets. Doesn't have the cult status of the Airplanes or Naked Guns, but in fairness it's just as good and puerile as those. Laughter is the best medicine!

Not one of Nielsen's best, but still a goofy fun time.

A spoof movie that is actually pretty funny, I know weird eh! It helps that the late-great Leslie Nielsen is doing his thing here.

I think it's safe to say that Leslie Nielson does not have a very exclusive screening process when it comes to the movies that he will do.

Dumb as hell movie that made me laugh, also was better than The Jackal remake that the final act makes fun of anyways.

Only some parts with Leslie Nielsen are funny, all the rest is pretty lame.

I can't objectively rate this higher, as it is really not a good movie at all. But when I was 11, I ate this shit up, and I must admit that there are a couple gags in here that make me laugh to this day when I think about them. I just have a soft spot for Leslie Neilsen, I guess. I find the man endlessly funny. Plus I'm fond of what's being spoofed here -- it pays to only use iconic pop culture films, instead of cramming in everything. This one's not very good, but Neilsen's done much worse.

A parody of one of my favourite movies (The Fugitive) with one awesome funnyman. Can't ask for much more!

Aged better than expected. Sure, it’s swamped with sexism but not nearly in as vicious or harmful way as many of the peers of its era. For the younglings - The Fugitive is a required watch before this. Unless you want to be completely bewildered by what the heck were people on in the 90’s. :D

Might have just not been in the right mood cause i only got a couple good laughs out of this. The dialogue was snappy, but i 'm thinking there wasn't enough normal stuff to make the weird stuff seem funny.

My friends and I weren't expecting Shakespeare when we rented this, but damn. Just a bad movie. All 13 rating-points come from the part where the usher uses a lightsaber to show someone their seat. For some reason, that cracked me up.

Slightly more palatable than most of Leslie Nielsen's other non-Zucker visual pun films, but still not good at all. It has one or two laughs (an improvement from most of his other films), but the parodies are obvious and dumb. A cameo with John Walsh is cute, but even that goes a bit long.

At least there is a good Mentos joke. Also another scene that made me smile but I can’t remember what it was.

Fairly poor 90s parody. Harrison Ford films The Fugitive, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger feature most prominently among many- probably half of the small amount of fun in the film comes from spotting what's being spoofed, and Leslie Nielsen definitely was a great comic actor. Unfortunately too many jokes fall flat and the mash-up plot is very poor. Naked Gun or Airplane! it ain't.
