Originally planned as an instalment of the Quatermass series, so similarities to those films are inevitable. This has the same style and covers a lot of the same themes, but Jagger plays a warmer, more likeable character than the one played by Brian Donlevy. Overall it's decent enough, but a bit lacking in suspense, and not exactly essential viewing.

Below average thrill-wise but has it's charms, pleasant-ish little B-movie.

Decent 50s sci-fi outing from Hammer, very much in the Quatermass mold. Interesting in the genre in that the monster isn't out to destroy humanity. The killer blob really is just a mindless blob looking for tasty uranium. Production-wise it's not bad for a British B-movie, with some nice effects, and the grim Scottish moors setting works well.

Solid, but not on par with the Quatermass films it was originally meant to be a part of. Could have really used a little bit more in the way of atmosphere.
