Eastern educated Bob Culpepper, along with grizzled prospector Solitary, hit the mother lode and head to Gold Town to stake their claim. Along the way they chase off a gang of stagecoach robbers, led by the oafish Missouri, who works for shady Gold Town saloon owner Jack Hanway. A light romance story centered around a goldmine out west. Sadly very unremarkable and slow for a RKO production, but naturally a robust performance by Richard Dix in the center of it all. What's most interesting about Yellow Dust (1936) is that it was Leila Hyams last film appearance. The pretty girl from Freaks (1932). She decided to focus on family even if she was still getting decent parts.
