Excellent martial arts are on display here, a reasonably if rambling story, the only thing that completely fail in the comedy which thankfully is used sparingly. The weirdest thing for me was the fact that while the film was made in 1988 it looks like it came out in the 1970s. The end fight is extremely well done with great use of lighting and some beautiful scenery.

The hero is the bearded guy who played the villain in the first two Shaolin Temple movies with Jet Li, and his drunken swordplay is phenomenal. Sadly the only version I could find is English dubbed, which reduces a lot of the drama and makes the sidekick character annoying as hell. Still worth watching for the relentless action...no wires, no quick edits, no stunt doubles, real weapons. Great Stuff.
