If you're looking for a movie to watch with your kids then it's a completely serviceable movie. Also, if you're thinking about watching that latest Adam Sandler piece of shit, this is also more deserving of a view.

Let's be real. If you've only ever slightly heard of Jim Carrey's "Yes Man", that will be on your mind while watching this movie. Fortunately, it's not an entirely unoriginal concept, because I think the family/kids dynamic actually really worked well for the messages that they were trying to spread. It was fun. Not anything game changing. Just fun.

Don't let your kids watch this or you'll regret it. That Kool-Aide game looked like a blast though.

Yes Day is both inoffensive and unimpressive. The film gets by on the charm of its cast as it cycles through a fairly paint-by-numbers plot. A normalized interracial family and a few fun set-pieces work in the film's favour, as it neither is nor tries to be profound. Decent as light entertainment.

It's some harmless light-hearted fun. Has it's moments, but it is aimed at kids/families so it has its limits. Not good but somewhat entertaining.

Sweet natured, heartfelt family comedy is limited by its sitcom style and nature, and can’t quite seem to find a successful way to form or land a third act, but the cast is fun, with Garner and Ramirez’s sometimes pantomime-like performances meshing well with the child stars; a lack of syrupy sentiment is a definite plus, though some of the crotch based and more violent gags stir not entirely pleasant memories of the HOME ALONE imitators of the 90s. Worth a couple of good chuckles.

Wish parents actually did this. Life would be so much more fun. Jenna Ortega is great in this show.

A prime example of generic Netflix production which is designed not to offend anyone. I've seen worse, but it fails at being funny, and is a bit too heavy with its message. It's a pity that Jennifer Garner does this kind of films now, but the bigger shock was to see that it was directed by Miguel Arteta who has previously done solid films like Youth in Revolt and The Good Girl. I hope this allows him to do something along those lines again.
