More boldly confrontational than your typical mumblecore flick, and more formally audacious (although the stylistic jumble at times feels at odds with the thoroughly verite tone of the rest of the film), however somewhat difficult to get into due to the deliberately unlikable characters. Definitely not a comedy, and somewhat refreshing for it's genre, it works for what it is but ultimately feels a bit aimless and the poetic aspirations feel somewhat misplaced.
