Well this is something else on crazy pills. A crippled pencil pusher in a corrupt law firm suffers from guilt & self esteem issues. He can't protect his friends or get the girl but finds a voice through his roots in Malay shamanism. Splattering himself with diesel in a drunken rage one night he transforms into the Oily Maniac & sets out to avenge crimes in the city. But is his greasy double life costing him his soul? This beyond strange Hong Kong hodgepodge might be the ultimate camp experience.

Very strange, even as far as these movies go. There's a lot going on here.

What did I just see?!?!

Seriously. What the fuck?

The Hulk meets Swamp Thing with special effect from Toxic Avenger. If that sounds fun watch it, if not don't bother.

Totally bonkers, but played completely straight despite the stupid story and even sillier effects. And as such this is quite an entertaining way to waste an evening. It's never going to be a classic or even a good movie, but it's fun.

A bit mixed with this: it's pretty wild and entertaining as is, but could have easily been much more. The plot is quite confusing and it lacks clear focus; stuff like the courtroom scenes could have been scrapped, while I enjoyed e.g. the gas station one. The suit is pretty effective, but some FX are quite rough. There's a funny Jaws riff that is played as a theme for the monster. The film is also surprisingly sleazy and might attract viewers who are not otherwise into Shaw Bros.
