Mickey Rooney plays inventor Thomas Edison as a young man. And with that this becomes closer to a Tom Sawyer type adventure film then a serious biographical film about a man and his accomplishments. Quite fun, but it's never a movie that fully comes into itself, nor really captures the spirit of the great man. Instead it's just Mickey Rooney getting into a lot of mischief per usual.
