Zaza starts full of life! You've rarely seen Claudette Colbert this bubbly since the code was enforced. She and her traveling show biz family enjoy life to the fullest all drunk and playful. Then dull Herbert Marshall enters her life and once it gets serious Marshall dulls down Colbert too and it never regains the spirit it had the first half. This is still a worth wild film from George Cukor capturing the lure of the theater and to see Colbert having a grand time with her part!
