I thought this was a solid follow-up to the original film. The only harm here is that it came out so late after the huge 2010s zombie craze. There is a scene that feels unnecessary to the plot and feels like filler, but even that scene was hilarious. It perfectly recaptures the same tone and humor of the first film with the same characters you loved the first time around, and that's a winner in my book. Zoey Deutch is perfectly cast. Also, mid-credits scene is amazing. All in all, I liked it.

Reminded me of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in that I liked walking around in the universe again but there's almost nothing to be done about diminishing returns. On the plus side, it's not like 300: Rise of the Empire where the whole universe should've had the film burned in a lab.

It does feel a little empty and hollow at times, but my expectations and desires were satisfied with Double Tap. The freshness and vitality from the original Zombieland is lost; however, the humor still flies fast and furious, and the characters have to deal with much different circumstances and themes than before. The one thing I really appreciated is that, no matter the quality, I could see that everyone involved had a ton of fun with this project and wasn't just in it for the paycheck.

I liked most everything about this, and can say that I obviously am not as in love as I was with the original. A lot goes into that, not the least of which is the close to 1,000 movies that I've watched in-between. What worked in 2009 still works here, though I'm not sure I laughed as much. I did dig the expansion of the universe as well as the potential for more to come. I'd be down for a trilogy, but they'll have to find a better name this time than Columbus' third rule: "beware of bathrooms".

Solid movie that brings back exactly what we all loved about the original. The original is better more for the freshness of it, but otherwise the sequel completely captures what we all loved about the original, with some cool new ideas thrown in too. Abigail Breslin is easily the weakest link among the cast, unfortunately. I don't think that's necessarily her fault, but that her arc just wasn't great. The other leads are fantastic, and Zoey Deutch's character brings some extra fun as well.

Not as great as the first but still pretty damn good. Fans of the original are likely to have the same grin on their faces as I did throughout. The filmmakers give us new types of zombies to look out for, further character development, some fun & clever new characters & and an impressive climax where the heroes have to face off a horde w/out weapons and come up w/ a pretty clever way of doing it. If they can make another one like this, the franchise will be one of the most fun trilogies ever.

Comparable to the first one. It's just good dumb fun at the movies, which is all I ever really wanted from a trip to the cinema in the first place. I enjoyed every moment of it. The jokes work, the pacing is good and Madison is a great addition to the group. Stay for the mid-credits scene.

After ten more years of seeing Eisenberg's cut-rate, sometimes mean feeling impression of a Woody Allen character, I've grown quite tired of him. The movie itself came out most of a decade too late, and after seeing this one, I feel like the first movie already showed us all the "Zombieland" universe has to offer. Watch the first one, pretend this never happened.

While the surprisingly excellent Zombieland certainly left scope for a sequel, DT is a zombie like retread that lacks the spark of the original. Breslin seems to have forgotten how to act and the movie works best when she's not involved. That said most of the cast give it their all, and some of the more cartoonish humour does get some laughs, even if many story or character arcs seem rushed or abandoned. There's enough here (definitely watch the credits) for fans to make it worth a watch

Zombieland is one of my favourite zombie movies. I don't know if I'm being emotional or something but despite all those cliches I really enjoyed it. Pretty well set duration and some easter eggs made the movie enjoyable. Still; seeing them getting this old so sad; can't believe it has been 10 years.

I'm not a particular fan of the zombie genre. AMC's The Walking Dead had a good start but then I grew desensitized to not only the endless zombie deaths, but the thinly written protagonists. Even though this is the second go round to the successful 2009 film it really kept its charm. I love that these heroes are desensitized to zombie movies as well even though it's their reality.

This had next to no chance to living up to the first one. Based solely on the movie without comparison, it's above average. The movie certainly plays to its roots, and that is the characters themselves. Zombies are quite the background to this movie, very far and between do you actually see many. This would be fine if the jokes weren't so hit and miss, with some of them dragging on too long, giving it a SNL skit vibe. That said, I did enjoy this considerably, but it could bet better.

Maybe it's because I came to this movie with 0 expectations, but I was completely satisfied by it being just a fun dumb comedy. Yea the ending RUNS out of budget and just wraps up, and the characters sometimes ignore their "rules" for no reason other than conflict. But the jokes made me laugh. It's a "watch it when it's on netflix or HBO" movie. Zoey Deutch tho gives one of the best side characters performances in recent years tho. Her comedic timing is perfect.

Over the top but brings much joy. When I saw the trailer I was worried, very worried. Then I went to the cinema and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Objectively speaking this movie isn't good, and has huge plot holes. They did a better job with the first movie in all aspects. But sometimes you just wanna lean back and enjoy goofiness. And this movie delivers it. Not great, not terrible, would watch again.

I can’t remember much of the original yet seem to recall it was better than this. DT starts slowly then gets going in the midsection with the addition of Madison and especially when the guys meet their doubles. Everything looks to be setting up for a ridiculous finale with the hippy commune that melts guns, but all you get is a pretty straightforward action scene then it’s over. As unexpected as this sequel is there was no reason not to make it, although there was no reason to make it either.

On par with the first one as far as humour and story. It adds nothing new really and tries to up the zombie stakes just a little bit by introducing a new breed called the "T-800s". A few moments made me a laugh but ultimately this film played it safer than I would have anticipated it doing. Rosario Dawson was the highlight of the film as the original four actually felt flatter than normal this time around and had very little actual character development. Still solidly entertaining.

Insufferable. It's yet another example of the nowadays extremely modern same bland tasteless meal we've had a million times already. Contrived and formulaic - and thus very predictable - plot and character "arcs." If the latter can even be called arcs, as the writing is so insufferably lazy. All the characters are grown up children, and the actors' uninspired presence is palpable. It's a terrible film, don't bother.

The problem with rooting movies in these kinds of right-wing politics is a complete lack of empathy between the characters and more importantly, offered to the audience. The result for a 'horror-comedy' is mean, stereotype based comedy and absolutely no feelings of horror. All that's left is a movie for people who enjoy watching gratuitously violent deaths. Don't give me the "they're already dead" excuse - we all know what we're looking at here!

An unfortunately mostly lukewarm continuation of the classic 2009 horror comedy: the director, writers and main cast are all present, yet the above par moments are few and far between. Zoey Deutch's character adds some spark to the proceedings, but is almost negated by Tallahassee's generic love interest and the lazy subplot of Albuquerque and Flagstaff. Despite a few good moments, what prevails is basic humour, lacklustre chemistry and far too many questionable, even absurd character reactions.

Fuck, was this just lazy. From the vegan gen Z camp, which was every 70s hippycliché reanimated, to the fact that they just doubled their maincharacters instead of coming up with something new. I kept waiting for Madison to show some kind of hidden depth or different side but no. This only exists on the strength of the cast alone (including the cameos and side characters) and kudos for especially getting the 4 leads back after so many years. The praise ends there because the problem is that it doesn't add anything and it just tries to ride the coattails of the original. They overplay the Bill Murray gag, and they seem to somewhat "damsel" Emma Stone's Wichita, which goes against what the original brought. It's fine but unremarkable.

The best part of this movie was Zoey Deutch. She brought a spark of life and color to a dull movie. It was enjoyable watching her play an unusual role as a ditsy blonde. Her mastery of witty, comedic timing, and expressive body language, hearkens back to her 2014 role in Vampire Academy. The other actors were flat and uninteresting, in comparison. The script was mediocre. And for a movie that purports to be a comedy, I don't think I laughed once. I hope I never have to watch this again.

A shame that such a novel and refreshing spin on some old tropes would itself become an old trope the second time around!

Well, the first film was more of a less is more flick, where just having these four heroes really worked well, but the extra characters in Double Tap watered everything down at most, especially Madison, who is just annoying, and not in any good way.

Pros: solid sequel in that it still keeps the good aspects of the original film/some new likeable characters Cons: the existence of a populated pacifist society is so unconvincing even after considering it is just another passable zombie comedy that it made me feel like the idea was just added to make the plot work/the new zombie species thing seemed like a good gimmick at first, but in the end it did not contribute anything to the movie

There are some decent jokes here, but the delivery often has a way of stepping on the punchlines. I do expect a sequel like this to be "more of the same, but a little worse", so I can't say I was surprised, but really ... the best they can do to top the memorable Bill Murray cameo in the first film is just to jam him in again.

Ok, just not up to the original. Little Rock's weight gain was offputting.

The movie starts out well enough with some decent gags but a lot of the action scenes are pretty rote and the plot threads end up being mostly pointless and contrived. The climactic fight around the end makes little sense - why do they stand in one spot if they planned on leading the zombies up to the roof before they came? Why are the pacifist hippies perfectly fine with the heroes killing so many zombies? It's fairly watchable, but it has a lot to be desired.
