In the span of reading this cute little morsel of a review you'd have been attacked by the likes of every single celebrity who forgot to bring a joke with them. You'd find more laughs actually watching a fashion show: "Oh look here comes some guy wearing a mosquito net with a glow in the dark cock sock, heh"

The Ben Stiller sequel for characters who haven't aged good and want to hide lackluster performances behind a million cameos from celebrities who can't act good too.

Lazy, lazy filmmaking--it's not that it isn't funny, it's that it doesn't even rouse itself to try to be funny. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't watchable, though. I was not bored, even as I was never amused and definitely would never want to sit through this again. Maybe it's the NONSTOP celebrity cameos; maybe it's the "fuck it--let's do whatever we want" attitude. I don't know, man. It's Zoolander.

The first one succeeded because of a certain charm in the stupidity of the movie. The second time around, the original cast is reassembled right down to Sting, with a couple new names, some of which are pretty funny (Sutherland). The magic is gone, though. This movie fails like a direct-to-video sequel in name only. It's hard to explain why, but the stupidity is too self conscious now, and the only character who gets any laughs is Mugatu, which is hard to admit.

Further proof that it's essentially pointless to review most comedies since what we find funny is such a subjective experience, especially when the comedy is deliberately ridiculous. Speaking for myself, the absurdities Stiller piles on hit me just right. Story-wise, I also found this to be a far more entertaining Bond film than the last Bond film (Spectre) with better looking beauties & the villain's plan and motivation making a hell of a lot more sense here than it did there.

I've been a loyal Zoolander fanboy since 2001 and was looking forward for a quality sequel for many years. This drivel just isn't worthy, it's as simple as that. Sure, there are some funny 'incidents' here and there, but nothing to write to 'The Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too about. Truly. It's over stylized, script quite weak, way too many shitty cameo's and basically the story doesn't really flow well. Should 've been binned.

Zoolander 2 is yet another superfluous sequel that disappoints on every level. The script seems to have been written in a matter of minutes judging by the laziness of the comedy, which consists of painful rehashes of jokes from the original combined with an ample helping of dire celebrity cameos. The acting is just as bad, with new cast additions Wiig and Mooney offering two of the worst characters ever put to film.

A rare film that manages to come across as dated the day it was released. An unfortunately in-character joke stumbled upon given the subject being satirized. Zoolander 2 makes me wonder two things...1) How heavily Cumberbatch was involved in his own characters creation & 2) If this is the catalyst film from which Stiller adopts Sandler's late-career style of filmmaking.

Missing out on any of the lightning in a bottle charm it captured in the first film. This is sad, and stupid and trying way too hard. There are are one or two laughs, but wading your way through the crap is definitely not worth it.

Provided you have the appropriate expectations, there is plenty of fun to be had in ZOOLANDER 2. The filmmakers seem reluctant to give the film even half the satirical bite of the original (perhaps a concession to facilitate the insane critical mass of celebrity cameos), and get lost in dead-end subplots. There are inspired moments, however, many thanks to Kyle Mooney as a nitwit hipster designer and a returning Will Ferrell, who arrives too late to save the film but does a valiant job trying.

Zoolander 2 is a prime example of a sequel that has materialised far too long after it's predecessor and I don't think anybody particularly wanted or needed this desperate sequel. This is nothing more than a game of spot the celebrity cameo and Ben Stiller has lazily and unforgivably cashed in on recycled content that just isn't funny anymore. I must have chuckled no more than once or twice throughout the entirety of this painstaking experience and I was just willing for it to end.

I've seen so much terrible shit in half-awake states over the last four months. Collectively they exist as a homogeneous slurry of suck -- fragmental, fever-dream apparitions. It takes quite a bit to stand out from the drek, but this...THIS. JEEZUS CHRIST. So fucking bad. Zero laughs. A huge miscalculation by a fast-tracking-to-irrelevancy Ben Stiller. Stick to the "serious actor" roles in Noah Baumbach films, Ben. This slapsticky rehashes of the early '00s greatest hits isn't working.

The original Zoolander let absurdity rise above mundane reality. This disappointing sequel has no reality to ground itself in, instead offering nothing but cameos and bright lights. The spy-parody motif wasn't a terrible premise, but the execution was woefully inadequate. The few genuine laughs are spread thin, and in the end it's a sequel that the vast majority should just forget happened.

Unforgivingly bad. It tries to replace actual comedy with celebrity appearances. Everyone whose normally good felt phoned in and everything lovable about the first one is gone. It's unfunny, unbearable, and a bad experience. Skip it for your sakes.

Zoolander No. 2 has a slightly sweet father-and-son story connected to it. And its jabs at our looks-obsessed culture are welcome. But mostly the flick is silly, salacious fluff--a bit of unseemly drivel determined to use its gags to make us gag. And unlike some movies that could've done away with the unfortunate content and been just as funny, this film is largely predicated on that very content. It depends on it (pluggedin.com)

Unlike most other reviewers I actually had fun watching this movie, but I also think it works a lot better if you see it as metahumor, satirizing Hollywood nostalgia sequel madness. Zoolander 1 was absurd fun creating a mythos around male supermodels and inventing a whole lot of insane stereotypes. The sequel came out 15 years later, has twice the budget, sudden celebrity cameos everywhere, and unnecessary CGI action scenes. It's probably not intended, but it's a perfect parody of itself.

Twolander isn't as bad as everyone advertises, but fashion modeling is very objective I would think Tyra Banks would say. Yeah, this movie isn't perfect, but I remember laughing quite a bit throughout the film. Maybe I was laughing at the sheer stupidity, but still it has some good parts. I would say the parts with Kiefer Sutherland were the best and I will always love everything Justin Theroux does. Cruz was really hot in this film and Ferrell had some funny parts too...

Zoolander 2 is a cash-grab sequel that's coming way too late and with far too little observable effort. The plot feels ripped from a D-grade spy movie, the characters are all stupid or non-entities, there are few jokes and almost no laughs, and the celebrity cameos are so plentiful and annoying that they detract from the film, which itself is dull and uneventful. Zoolander 2 is what a 2016 Austin Powers sequel would look like if its protagonist were a moronic fashion model. It doesn't work.

I love the first Zoolander; unfortunately they waited too long to make this, so it became a "why bother" sequel. The plot is a mess and whilst it has some funny moments, the majority of the film is waaaaay to stupid. And it's not the so-stupid-so-good charm that the original had, it just felt so dumbed down it went from clever to just plain idiotic.

A convoluted and lazily written plot (see the terrible climax that renders pretty much everything previous irrelevant) is jammed onto a non-stop ride of ridiculousness that more often than not doesn't generate laughs (the sexual innuendos are lame; Armisen's head unnerving; the celebrity cameos mostly tiresome, straight-faced and dramatic Sutherland aside-"minus one") but earns points for Wiig's hilariously accented Alexanya and just for the sheer amount of insanity thrown out there by the end.

This sequel is okay. Just less so. My expectations weren't very high, so I wasn't disappointed, but yeah, it's not as good as the first one. It had enough callbacks & fun cameos to keep me entertained, but the screenplay is very formulaic and mostly just a watered-down version of the original. Ben Stiller and the rest of the cast do their best, though, and there are a few funny moments. I thought it was a harmless comedy, and I'm not burnt up about it not being as strong as the first one

Oh man.....It was really bad. I'm really forgiving when it comes to sequels of just about anything. They almost always coming in with people expecting it to be bad. In this particular instance however.....the trend seems to be on point. The jokes were really bad, the plot....can I actually call it that? Anyways it was bad. And hey, I know what you're thinking, "It's supposed to be a dumb movie right?" Sure, but there is a bare bar minimum you still want and it wasn't there. The cameos were cool.

Nothing feels new. Way too many direct references to the first film including musical cues. Also feels like a middle-aged idea of what young people are into in 2016, clumsily both dated and out-of-date. A cheap sketched stretched out to 90 minutes without any of the dumb earnestness of the original film.

A modern day AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS in its deployment of scores of pop culture cameos to middling effect - lands a few silly laughs now and then, thanks to an on-fire Wilson, but the one-joke character of Zoolander himself was played out in Part 1, and Stiller can't seem to help him travel any further here. At least/unfortunately it doesn't lean too heavily into scatological humour like many of its bretheren, and while it's definitely repetitious it remains likable and semi-endearing.
