I’ve never seen such a good looking piece of shit like this in quite some time. The cinematic equivalent of downloading numb.exe off of limewire.

I liked this movie plot better the first time, when it was called "The Ring/Ringu" and didn't suck.

Imagine if Silence of the Lambs and The Ring got together and had a baby, only it turned out those two were siblings, and the baby ended up being a mutant retard. The blame lies almost entirely on the writing team (it has a shitty premise, shitty plot, and shitty dialogue) but the rest of the crew is still at fault for not putting a stop to this terrible idea.

Started off kind of promising, but not that good towards the end. Actually a total rip off from the ring.

Scary less for the narrative and more for the fact that people actually made this, it's not so much a movie as loud, unpleasant, expertly calculated attack against happiness. It would put me to sleep if it didn't give me a huge migraine. Truly, truly awful.

I liked the idea of the film, but the theme of the website was a distraction from the premise of the movie.

A strange case of an appalling, derivative script given life and (almost) elevated to a recommendation from Malone's handling of the material, treating a standard aughty torture porn slasher in ways that wring every drop of tension from the premise. It's a shame that Malone's directorial skills don't extend to his actors - especially baffling for Rea, who can never quite decide if he's going the Lector route or the Kreuger route and fails to satisfy on either count. An interesting failure.

You can see that they tried hard at parts to make scary imagery and try to work on the mood in some scenes: it's more efforts than many of the more recent crap horror movies. But otherwise, there might be only one person who had acting knowledge in the lot, and the "enemy/ghost" makes no sense. Paper thin plot as well, weak climax.

I remember only that it was awful, and the phrase "hobo cheese" came up because of it (why I don't know).

An overly derivative, poorly acted piece of trash. For shame, Stephen Dorff, you're better than this (I think).

Not great flick, but not nearly as bad as all the 1 star reviews on this and other sites. There are way way more shitty movies out there, at least the production values were decent here.

I am really surprised the film restrained itself by playing only one Rammstein song. My favourite scene from the film, and the only one I remembered 20 years later, was when the mother says the girl is a hemophiliac and a moment later explains she liked playing in the steel mill.

I probably remembered this movie's existence solely because the movie's official website was apparently called feardotcom.com. Now I'm an adult, and I watched it for some reason, and now I finally see that the website in this movie is ALSO called feardotcom.com. They should have been more accurate and called the movie feardotcom.com, and the official website feardotcomdotcom.com.

"...desperately wants to be a cutting-edge chiller with its 'up-to-the-minute' internet theme, but turns out to be a depressing up-chuck of every great horror movie of the last 20 years."

House of Haunted Hill director came up with another horror movie... and that was not good idea. FearDotCom is lame and stupid. Moviemakers have met some brain-eating zombies, i guess. One of the worst movies released in 2002.

This is the worst movie I have ever seen. This is the worst movie I paid to see in a theatre. In New York City. I paid 10 dollars to see this movie. It was the worst film I have ever seen. May in fact be proof that God does not exist.
