After an abrasive and irritating opening sequence, this emerges as good natured teen drama (with some out-of-left field adult elements) which goes nowhere new, but as an umpteenth variation on the 'be yourself' high school message movie, it is an enjoyable diversion sparked by an engaging cast, with Cooper a genuinely lovable and charismatic lead; overuse of social media themes and ideas wears out its welcome fairly quickly.

Scrolling through Netflix, a friend picked this on a whim, hoping for a simple (romantic) high school comedy akin to "To All the Boys I've Loved Before". After watching 2/3rds of the movie and awkwardly joking about it, hoping that at least one funny or interesting scene would happen, we couldn't take it anymore and shut it off. All characters are unlikeable & the plot predictable but executed so badly that it feels like nothing happens. I usually sit through a movie, so this is an achievement.
