"The Drowning Pool was actually a sequel to Harper, in which Paul Newman played a private investigator, but Twilight, though unrelated, serves as a nice capper for an unofficial trilogy. In Harper Newman is the young, punky method actor; by the time of Drowning Pool he was more easygoing and more appealing; and in Twilight he was an old man whose voice was shot. All three are great, and they're even greater when viewed in sequence."
