"-Does the film contain a character that is identifiable LGBT? It has to be clearly said or seen, not only be implied.

-and is not solely or predominantly defined by their sexual orientation or gender identity: no matter the genre; the film must not entirely revolve around his/her sexuality. You can even do not know that he/she is LGBT until the very end, because again: being LGBT may not be crucial to the plot.

-This character must be tied into the plot in such a way that their removal would have a significant effect: could the film exist without this character? Or is it just there to close, make progress or be killed so the real protagonists of the story can survive? (examples are Horror movies where the gay character is there just to be killed so the real protagonists can survive).

-Special cases:

-In anthologies: if there is a character—not necessarily the same one—in all the stories that fulfills the requirements then it passes.

-In TV Series: as long as the character is as important as the other characters that are not the protagonist—if not the protagonist—of the story, and he/she appears in every season except for five episodes as a whole—checked with IMDb—then it passes; if not, it fails (examples are: "Undateable", "Fear the Walking Dead", or "S.W.A.T.". On the contrary, "Blindspot" or "Time After TIme" fail).

Also, when in doubt it fails, so if you have to think too much about his/her importance into the plot then it goes here.
