"Sh?jo, shojo, or shoujo manga (???? sh?jo manga) is manga aimed at a teenage female target-demographic readership. Sh?jo manga covers many subjects in a variety of narrative styles, from historical drama to science fiction. These tend to focus on romance and interpersonal relationships—though this does not mean they are necessary without action or adventure. Shojo works almost always have a female lead; however, many male homosexual love stories fall into the shojo category as well.
