Re: Coolest Characters Names

Case in point, I live in Quebec, and I have to yet to watch an American film or TV show that has ever gotten a portrayal of French-Canadians correct, or even had an accent that's even close to what the French sounds like here. (Weirdly, the closest thing thing I've seen has been Mad Men , actually) ...

Re: Coolest Characters Names

You're right, Hollywood in general puts almost no effort into researching other languages/cultures/peoples. Big-budget Hollywood films spend over a year in a production; All one of the writers needed was one afternoon to do some reading and come up with a better version of that name, but Singer did ...

Re: Coolest Characters Names

Keyser Soze is a terrible character name. Imdb states that "Writer Christopher McQuarrie chose the name Keyser Soze from an English-to-Turkish dictionary." But that's impossible. Re: Ranking the Bond films

A discussion on facebook reminded me of this thread and I came back to update my list. My James Bond Power Rankings: (Technically ranked in order, but definitely there is flexibility to move around films within each tier.) Good: A+ Goldfinger (Connery) B+ From Russia With Love (Connery) Skyfall (Cra...

Re: Criticker ratings and difficult watches

Hey, I'm the opposite. I rank films mostly based on how much I enjoyed them, not how "great" I think they are. Obviously those things aren't mutually exclusive, but there's been loads of films that I recognized were great well-made films that I ranked pretty mediocre because I didn't enjoy...
