I feel like the VOD market and the theater-going market have very little overlap anyway.
I don't go to the theater because I want to see the movie ASAP. I go because I can't replicate the technology at home.

Re: How do you use criticker.com?
That's pretty similar to how I use it. No site is able to predict my mood for the day, so expecting it to recommend me something I feel like watching is impossible. But, as you described, it's great when browsing and having a list of movies to choose from that you are unsure about. I also like peaki...

Re: TCIs & PSIs Regeneration
I had this issue as well after deleting all my ratings to sync up with IMDb and 2-3 days later I still had no PSIs. Once I manually rated an unrated film it started generating PSIs of movies I've clicked on since making that rating.

Re: advanced filtering
That's what collections are for. I guess, but searching through user generated collections isn't quite the same as checking the "avant garde" or w/e box. The Movements category is an actual list similar to Genre in that it has official recognition in the industry. This type of thing would...

advanced filtering
Hey! Can we add a new categorization for films so we can have even cooler filtering? The Genre list has all the broad genres (war, drama, comedy, etc) but none of the movements ! An example of a Movements list would be: ⋅ German Expressionism ⋅ French Impressionism (aka avant-gar...

Re: Good job everyone
For at least the one I submitted, there are no ratings on IMDB either, so I'd be curious how this user came up with their score. I use a 10-100 scale where 1 is a movie so bad I couldn't even finish watching it. Maybe they use the same scale but gave it that extra 1 to differentiate stopped watchin...

Re: Do I need to see more bad movies?
I just started with this yesterday, got almost 300 rated so far. I've noticed a trend though, the majority of films I rate 70-100 because I generally don't even watch films that I think will be bad. The issue with this though is that this means a film with 70 is in the 32nd percentile currently, wh...

Re: Search by average rating
After thinking about it further I think it might be cooler to make charts of the data instead. The data should already exist so it would be a matter of graphing it and would update automatically whenever the PSIs are updated. The idea is to be shown personalized statistics based on cast members who ...

Re: How to get better TCI matches
You can increase the amount of films in common a person has to have in order to appear in your TCI calculation. On your profile page, click the "update profile" and the last option above the submit button is the percent in common you want to set.
