Re: Personal rating system revolution
If you decide to change how you rank things is there an easier way to rank everything again besides individually going to each movies page and changing the rating? All Your Rankings > Batch Edit (bottom of the page), is the fastest way I know of to mass edit stuff, since at least you can paste the ...

Re: Personal rating system revolution
It doesn't think you totally agree on the movie. I think it does. From their own docs: "The TCI is a measure of the similarity between two people's taste in films. The lower the TCI, the greater the tendency to agree on which movies ruled and which sucked." ( http://www.criticker.com/?te ...

Re: Personal rating system revolution
tiers don't describe quality. that's what your rankings are for. … the purpose of dividing films into tiers is algorithmic - to produce more accurate TCIs, PSIs etc. If you think a movie is terrible, and I think it's just OK, are we a good match (assuming one movie in common)? No. So look at “Charl...

Re: Personal rating system revolution
(Cmonster) [custom quips] would provide anybody looking at your reviews a closer look at what you actually mean with the score Yes, I've set them up. (drjoss) Obviously the Criticker algorithm cannot know what subjective difference you attribute to scores of 0, 20, or 40. Nor can I, for that matter...

Re: Personal rating system revolution
Well, when you only have 6 distinct scores, and since the function of turning scores into tiers is one-to-one but not necessarily onto, you will end up only using 6 of the 10 available tiers. I'm OK with that. What I don't get is why, when I'm using all of my 6 distinct scores (which I am), they're...

Re: Personal rating system revolution
I'm pretty new here and have been trying to get used to the quirky Tiers system as well as to choose an actual rating methodology. After some vacillating, I'll settled on a just a few discrete slots, like the ones proposed in this thread (0-100, by 20). After getting things sorted out, I have to say...

Re: Ranking distribution graph
I'm glad to see that people find the tool useful. There has been some feedback, mainly about support for rating styles other than 0-100. I've now updated it to handle most of the ones I've heard about: 0-100, by 10 0-100, by 5 0-10 0-5 0/25/50/75/100 0/20/40/60/80/100 Enjoy. http://kalafut.github.io...

The Road (2009)
Just an OK film, but it definitely meets your bleak/depressing requirement.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi, I'm Jim. I live in Salem, OR, USA, and have previously spent time in Illinois and New Zealand. I don't watch that many films and am very selective about the ones I do watch in order to avoid wasting my time. I've been using movie recommendation engines for a long time and have found them very us...

Ranking distribution graph
I'm very new to the site and recently did a mass, semi-automated import of Netflix ratings. My ratings distribution is pretty messed up and I wanted a way to easily view it. I made a small site to help with this and you're welcome to use it: http://kalafut.github.io/critigram/ Just grab the rankings...
