Re: Why Criticker is Superior

Hi, I'm a bit of a statistics enthusiast, and I agree. 100 options is better for the clumping issues you mention, but in my own research, I found that people only substantially make use of about 40 options at the most. But, the good news is that there's no downside to having a lot of unused space in...

Re: Is Criticker your list of "Every Movie I've Ever Seen"?

On Criticker I have logged every film I have seen since January 1, 2012. I had been rating films for 5+ years before then, but I lost all the data, so I just decided to not try to redo it, and just start fresh. The benefit of that disaster is that I started keeping logs of how many times I've seen f...

An Evaluation of PSI Accuracy

I have completed an analysis of PSI accuracy, so we can see to what degree the metric gives good predictions. For reference, I use a 0 to 100 rating system. Below is the summary and tabulation of the difference between my score and the given PSI (absolute value). Look at the tabulation, because that...

Re: Why Top X Lists are Doomed to Failure

What I see as the even bigger flaw inherent to the construction of these lists is the fact that almost all of these lists are constructed by someone who is doing it for a living and can't spend too much time on any given article before they need to move on and create other content. Because of this, ...

Re: Hello all! :)

I'm here mostly because of the rating scale. 1 to 100. I love it! Allows me to be as specific as I want. Also the compatibility and recommendation system. It always reminds me of what I "should" watch based on what I have. Sometimes a wishlist is not enough, since it gets forgotten once things pile...

Re: Covid Cinema Antidote

Yeah, I made the mistake of watching more contemporary movies than ever in 2020, and though I logged over 200 films from the year, I barely reached the number of logs of really good films that I would watching just ~50 or so films in the mid-2010's, and so far 2021 is positively abysmal from the 50 ...

Re: Actors You Hate

I wasn't going to comment in this thread but I just finished watching Resurrecting the Champ (2007) and it features one of the worst central performances I've ever seen and reminded me how much I hate Josh Harnett.

Or maybe Mexico trilogy but I'm saying Chainsaw because I don't know which Mexico movie to guess.
