I had a lot of difficulty trying to figure which language Suspiria was originally shot in, since both Italian and English versions were widely available. Turns out both versions were made at the same time, and both could be considered the "original version", which okay fine, but which version should I watch, then? Is one version closer to the director's original vision than the other?
I had similar problem with The Leopard as well, with both Italian and English dubs are easily available. However, in that case, since almost all the actors except Burt Lancaster originally recorded their dialogue in Italian, it's easier to guess that the original version is the Italian one.
