2000 - Amores Perros (Alejandro González Iñárritu) ['Oh Brother...' is second for me too]
2001 - No Man's Land (Danis Tanovic) ['Apocalypse Now Redux' doesn't count]
2002 - Adaptation (Spike Jonze, scripted by Charlie Kaufman) [honestly, one of my favourites!]
2003 - James' Journey to Jerusalem (Ra'anan Alexandrowicz) [an israeli film]
2004 - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry, and again, scripted by Charlie Kaufman)
2005 - Grizzly Man (Werner Herzog)
2006 - The Departed (Martin Scorcese)
2007 - No Country for Old Men (Coens)
2008 - I have only seen three, and will not put one of these, although good film, in the same list as some of my favourites.
