Re: Perfect "10" filmmmakers?

Aha, a topic where my 'blunt' rating system comes in useful -Directors

Jim Henson
There's something magical about puppeteers, 'extending' their body 'into' inanimate objects to give them life. Similarly, Henson's wonderful warmth and creativity 'animate' these films;
Labyrinth (1986), The Cube (1969), The Dark Crystal (1982), Time Piece (1965)
There's also a bit on youtube where he shows how to make puppets that I must have watched half a dozen times.

Emeric Pressburger
This one surprised me. Been a long, long time since I saw blimp, not sure it would fare so well today but it seems I have a liking for his kind of melodrama and/or propaganda. In my defence they're cleverly written and/or look amazing.
Colonel Blimp (1943), A Matter of Life and Death (1946), Black Narcissus (1947)

James Marsh
Two brilliant documentaries; Project Nim (2011) and Man on Wire (2008) and the surprisingly haunting Shadow Dancer (2012) - must get the red riding series at some point.

Patrick Keiller
Psychogeography's something you either get or don't, I think these are great;
London (1994), Robinson in Space (1997), Robinson in Ruins (2010)

Kurosawa
I've only seen three so far but looking at those psi's he's going to stay t10 for a while.
Ikiru (1952), Sanjuro (1962), The Hidden Fortress (1958)

Just missing out is Ben Wheatley, another corker from him and he'll be back up.
