For this who appreciate dry Hitchcockian humor, or sometimes not so dry (Hitch without the cock), excellent dialogue/story and display of Thespianism, this is for you. The only action is the filming of an action/horror movie, Psycho, around which the story evolves. Hitchcock was an interesting character, as was his wife, Alma, whom this movie (and Helen Mirren) brings to the limelight. Scarlett Johansson is a knockout as a classy Janet Leigh. (She criticized women a few years ago for worrying too much about their weight, then cuts 'em off at the knees here by getting down to being downright svelte here.)

My only gripe is that Psycho made horror/terror movies respectable, but they haven't lived up to that respect since, or if they do, the term has been so trashed they usually call it something else, like Silence of the Lambs is a crime/drama/thriller. 8/10
