Touch of Evil - A bomb is planted in the trunk of a car, long one-take crane/tracking shot through a small town that alternately focuses on the car and Charlton Heston walking with Janet Leigh, ends with an explosion.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - Possibly the best credits sequence ever, followed by the introduction of the three characters.
Barry Lyndon - I love the opening shot, with the winding brick wall bookended by two trees on each edge of the frame in the foreground, and a duel on a hill in the background.
Onibaba - Women murder a couple wayward samurai, dispose of their bodies down a deep dark hole, and the sinister tone is set for the rest of the picture.
