Re: Your favorite movie scene ?

John Candy's 'I like me' monologue from "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"

Good call! It just shows that light frivolous movies can also have some really deep moments that catch you off guard.
I like the scene in Groundhog day when Bill Murray goes down to breakfast, blanks the owner, unplugs the toaster and goes marching straight to the bathroom. Overall that film has got more classic comedy scenes than any other I've seen.

Also a few more I like

The Jaws monologue about the men in the shark infested ocean

The graduate scene, where he's alone in Mrs Robinsons apartment for the first time

Making the tree grown scene from my Neigbour Totoro

The flashback montage from Grave of the fireflies
after the sister dies one of the few flashback sequences that feels right and has a massive emotional impact
Jack Nicholson's chat with the ghost bartender in The Shining.

The ending scene of City Lights - beautifully done.

The scene in Oldboy where
the guy offers to cut off his own tongue in exchange for the ther guys silence - shocking, gruesome and sad at the same time
