Read this.

As for the rest...if you think Black Sabbath, Shakespeare, and Jimmi Hendrix are the absolute pinnacles of music, writing, and guitar solos, respectively, then I'm sorry, you're simply far too biased, like the person favoring Atari's "Pong" over "Shadow of the Colossus" or "Bioshock", or claiming that some barely six foot tall white guy from the 30s was better than Kobe Bryant or LeBron James today.

It's not a matter of taste, either, as there are dozens if not well over a hundred bands/writers/guitarists better than each one of those nowadays, each with their distinct style, and appeal. I love the excuses, too; "Oh, they may be technically better, but...." But nothing. They are better in all regards. They were simply around later, and not pioneers, which apparently, causes the actual quality of their art to be downgraded in a few biased fans' eyes.

I could probably name at least several dozen who are superior to Shakespeare in every regard, but let's limit ourselves to John Steinbeck and Milan Kundera.
