'The Temple of Doom' is racist, unlogical, uncohesive and plain retarded. For some reason everybody speak english in marginal jungle areas of Asia, and Kate Capshaw made me want cut my ears off. Shortround was very annoying as well.
And still, although all the faults, 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' is still fun. It's the best of the saga for sure (haven't seen the last one) but it's definitely not that bad.

Temple of Doom: The Best Indy Flick
For many years, I have been the only person I am aware of that ranks The Temple of Doom as the best Indiana Jones film. It always seems to go to The Raiders of the Lost Ark, which, while a very good film, I still don't think stacks up to the action/comedy/pacing/female lead/Short Roundness of the sequel. There are more quotable lines (most of them from the aforementioned Short Round) in this film than any other Indy flick And Kate Capshaw is perfectly irratating and stunningly gorgeous. To top it all off, there's that image of Indy standing in the dust of the mine, whip at the ready, right after the mine-guard thrashes the little slave boy. When I think of Indy, that's the image I see. There's no arguing that the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the worst Indy film...but couldn't there be more voices out there who don't think I'm insane for calling Temple of Doom the best?
