I can see why a lot of people would hate Melancholia, it seems to be an extremely personal film. I see it as a movie that aims to capture a very specific emotion (somewhere in the realm of depression) that not a lot of people might have felt.
Yes, and intentionally making a movie with the prime objective of eliciting depression or extreme melancholy (not just examining it), I'll never understand.
i dunno, maybe because he has experienced depression and wanted others to understand what it was like for him?
i mean, it's not hard to come up with a reason.
