I consider myself a connoisseur of bad films. Not big budget flops (though some of those are good), but Z-grade cheese and cheap horror/exploitation/cult flicks. I love that shit and actively seek it out.
I've made it my personal mission to see every film on the original UK "Video Nasty" list, as many Jess Franco, Dario Argento, Russ Meyer, Lucio Fulci and Joe D'Amato flicks as possible, as well as every Women in Prison film shot in the Philippines. If you frequent the "Collections" subforum, you'll also see that I am trying to hunt down any films that depict children being graphically killed on screen

Do I think it gives me a finer appreciation for really great films? Nah, I would've liked them anyways. However, I do find a lot of films that are universally hailed as genius to be intolerable.
