Re: Films you enjoyed but others haven't seen

Here's a few suggestions for open minded, adventurous folks.

SALON KITTY http://www.criticker.com/?f=13741
Tinto Brass, the legendary filmmaker with a fixation on the female backside, brings you a Nazi and prostitute extravaganza. Featuring the talents of production designer Ken Adam, who worked on James Bond and Kubrick movies.

WHO ARE YOU, POLLY MAGGOO? http://www.criticker.com/?f=21071
I like this more each time I see it. You could look at it as a satire of the fashion industry, but I'd much rather just view it as the visually stimulating fantasy that it is. Easily among the funnest movies I was fortunate enough to discover. FitFortDanga's review sums it up well.

SNAKE DANCER http://www.criticker.com/?f=22331
A biopic about the South African exotic dancer Glenda Kemp that is bursting with cheese, disco, and skin. Watch it as a double feature with The Notorious Bettie Page for two (mostly) true stories about women who took it all off and had to deal with censorship.

VARIETY http://www.criticker.com/?f=22089
A woman takes a job at the ticket booth of at an adult theatre and starts to become obsessed with porn. She disturbs her boyfriend by describing sex movies like she was reading a sleazy romance novel. Nice cinematography.

BIZARRE http://www.criticker.com/?f=13780
Stylish, colorful, and utterly nonsensical softcore/art movie. It's strangeness may test the patience of some, but there's plenty of nudity and puzzling content for those who like an "out there" movie experience. The director, Anthony Balch, worked with William S. Burroughs on short films and the 60s version of Häxan.

BLUEBEARD http://www.criticker.com/?f=17919
Richard Burton is a Nazi with a blue beard, and a tendency to kill off the women he gets involved with and store them in a freezer. The cast is full of hot actresses, including Raquel Welch as a nun with an alarming sexual history, and Sybil Danning. Music by Ennio Morricone.

VAMPYRES http://www.criticker.com/?f=13740
My favorite lesbian vampire movie. I was bored by Franco's Vampyros Lesbos, and while Daughters of Darkness is more stylish, Vampyres has a certain vibe that grabbed me right away. The ladies are high quality, which helps. (NOTE: The movie makes very little sense, so don't get pissed if you decide to watch this. Just a warning for those of you who are picky about such things.)

QUIET DAYS IN CLICHY http://www.criticker.com/?f=14513
Visually appealing, raunchy screen adaption of the Henry Miller book that's sort of like an Avant-Garde music video/softcore sex movie.
