What does this mean? They probably aren't going to be good actors, but how are mixed martial artists "tainted"?

Poor in what way? There are few true action films being released nowadays, especially ones that aren't CGI-driven. What roles did you expect Vinnie Jones to be offered? In reality, his career is no better or worse off today than it was back in 2000, after the release of "Snatch".

I dunno. He's got 13 projects on IMDb in completed/pre-/in/post-production which is a goodly number. Plus he had a superb role in a most excellent episode (M., Jan 10--which see) of TV's best series (IMNTBHO), Elementary, a worthy successor to House. His heart-warming character will certainly be making more appearance(s) in future segments, some probably already in the can.

This guy is a talented actor. Yet he ends up in films with meathead prize fighters whose acting ability makes them seem like they are borderline mentally disabled.

Just watched Locked Down (2010) in which he turns in a solid performance. Kimbo Slice also does a good job in his small role, an absolute rarity for anyone tainted by the "MMA" scene. But the rest of the cast- lol wow.

Poor Vinnie Jones.
