Re: From Tiers to Percentiles: Introducing a Big New Change to Criticker
Ok, but that is not what the above discussion was about. What was discussed was most users watch only films they like and thus only rate films they like, often leading to rating scales ranging e.g. between 50-100 with no ratings below 50. I'm curious, do you know of any users who have no ratings be...

Re: From Tiers to Percentiles: Introducing a Big New Change to Criticker
I understand how it was a problem under the old 10 tier system, but I'm not sure I understand how it's a problem under the percentile system. Can someone ELI5 for me? I'll try (can't do completely without maths though): Let's assume a user ranks 10 films with the following scores: 91, 92, 93, 94, 9...

Re: From Tiers to Percentiles: Introducing a Big New Change to Criticker
Same here. I think the takeaway of the thread: What happens to tiers if a user only rates movies he likes? and the thread: Disagree with the Ranking Scale is that we have to rate bad movies . I am also wondering, whether there is another (better) way. But I admit, that I haven't yet found a solutio...

Re: Where is everyone ?
Active forums are great in principle, but discussions are often dominated by one or two loud individuals that drown out the other participants and drive people away who can't be bothered with arguing about something that's really not that important in the grand scheme of things. The other thing is ...

Re: Have a forum on each movie page, and delete the general "movie-specific" forum
I agree this could bring people in. I also agree that no other movie forum has yet to rise up to replace the IMDB specific-movie forums on their movie pages, and that some site will eventually rise up to fill that void. Criticker could try to get in there while the getting's good.

Re: Where is everyone ?
...I don't think having movie-specific forums would do much, since, if they want to, users can already create movie-specific discussions, and they don't tend to see a lot of traffic. Concerning why I think the movie-specific forum is inadequate for movie-specific disucssions, I address this in the ...

Re: [unsolved] heist: liquefied gold bars pumped into fire truck
Actually I think I can explain that. I think the movie is just extraordinarily forgettable. A couple years ago, I was trying to remember what it was called too, and the only thing I could remember was the gold bars on the vehicle to hide the gold. Eventually I found it somehow, despite not recognizi...

Interesting. Please let me know after you watch it, because I'm curious to see if it ends up being the right one!
