Re: Star Wars: Episode 9

There is a long standing story that Harrison Ford asked for Solo to die in Return of the Jedi and was refused by Lucas. Perhaps he only agreed to return if they killed him. I do not mind the creative endeavour to kill off major staples of the universe in order to create new and engaging story. I am ...

Avengers: Infinity War

There was a lot of moving parts to the biggest narrative undertaking yet in the MCU. Some of them fit together nicely and others felt clogged for the sake of delaying the inevitable massive fight scene. Cap and Iron Man again had the most compelling narrative and Tom Holland and Chris Pratt served a...

Re: What are your top 10 most overrated movies?

Not going to be a list of 10 but here are some off the top of my head. Star Wars Prequels and The Last Jedi- The prequels were not necessary stories to be told and The Last Jedi in my opinion was just not a great continuation to the series. It was boring, pacing was off and the storylines just did n...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

« Does Disney want its directors to have creative freedom? The recent fiasco on the Han Solo movie suggests the studio wants obedient showrunners, not directors » m It definitely makes sense that Disney wants obedient directors who stick to the same money making formula. As cool as the Marvel Cinem...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I don't blame Rian Johnson anymore, I blame whoever had the decision making power and for some reason saw his resume and thought he'd be a good fit for directing a space sci-fi adventure film, that's who's at fault. Indeed the fault does fall with the person who gave him the job in the first place....

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

General Leia should have at least received an on screen exit from the Star Wars universe. [quote/] Agreed. When I first saw TLJ, I was shocked to see Leia die ... and relieved to realize a few seconds later that in fact she hadn't died. But the almost-dead-Leia-force-pulling-herself-back-into-the-s...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Otherwise, sacrificing herself via "hyperspace jump attack" would have been a honourable ending. But, as has been pointed out before in this thread, it raises the legitimate question of why this kind of attack has never been done, not even by a droid-piloted spacecraft. Perhaps all this i...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

With Leia I feel like it would have been good to end her story here if at all possible. I know the logistics of having done this may have proved difficult but it could have been something worth exploring. Either that or at least create a plotline that gives her an easy exit from Episode 9. Killing h...

Love, Simon

Love, Simon bravely takes on the challenges of coming out, the affects of high school and how black mail and bullying can drastically alter the course of someones life. The acting was top notch thanks to Robinson and Langford and the rest of the supporting cast. A very engaging film perhaps the only...
