If you are a fan of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or any epic film, ie Braveheart, Lawrence of Arabia, Lord of the Rings, then you need to watch this film. My opinion is that this film deserves as much recognition as the aforementioned films. Cinematography is gorgeous and well executed. Though the "shakey cam" is used during fight scenes, I still believe such use, when used effectively, gives the viewer a feeling of the "chaos" that exists in such situations.

My favorite part of the film is when two characters must aide the group by acting as bait to draw off pursuers to give the main group a chance to escape. Princess Bu-yong, Zhang Ziyi's character, ties a scarf to Yeosol's weapon, Woo-sung Jung's character, as a reminder to him that he must return safely from this mission. The following pursuit sequence has few equals.
