Actually those are the most embarrassing cameos I can think of.

Why? I enjoy a lot of his work. I was happy to see him playing these bit roles in stories he created.

I kind of like seeing him in there its become a fun little joke in the movies, of course he isn't the greatest actor I've ever seen :) but he's done so much to popularize those stories I say why not? I'd rank his cameos cheesy fun I suppose.

All good:

Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein (well kinda cheesy)

Keith Richards as Sparrow's father in Pirates of the Caribbean Pt III

Rodney Dangerfield in Natural Born Killers

Best explanation for a cameo ever: Bruce Campbell in Darkman.

Larry Bishop in the first Kill Bill was the most entertaining thing in either of those movies IMO.

Jeremy Piven in Singles is also one of my favorites, with his manic re-enactment of mashing up Elvis Costello and Public Enemy. It made me ROFL for some reason.

John Hurt in Spaceballs: awesome.

Orson Welles in The Muppet Movie! :D

Ethel Merman in Airplane! :D

The only times I actively dislike cameos, really, is if it's somebody I don't give a crap about to begin with, like Kid Rock, or if they do it too many times. I liked the Hitchcock thing when I was a kid but not so much nowadays. I'm tired of seeing Stan Lee in every superhero movie now too.

John Goodman's at the end of The Campaign had me in stitches.
