Note****This post will likely contain spoilers as it may discuss surprise cameos in movies.*****
Cameos can come in many styles from great ones (like Bill Murry in the recent movie "Zombieland"), to awful (M. Night Shyamalan in most of his films), and down right cheesy (Vanilla Ice in TMNT2).
Take a little time if you want and see if you can come up with some memorable cameos you can remember, for any reason be it good, bad, or cheesy.

Alfred Hitchcock in that one movie where a train door or something closes on him and he stands there like an idiot. Kind of bad, certainly not good.
David Bowie in Zoolander, kind of cool I guess.
Bruce Springsteen in High Fidelity. Awersome.

I liked Stan Lee's appearances in the comic book movies, even if the movies themselves aren't great.

Actually those are the most embarrassing cameos I can think of.

Bob Vila's cameo in Hot Shots Part Deux is just sick as hell.

Why? I enjoy a lot of his work. I was happy to see him playing these bit roles in stories he created.

I kind of like seeing him in there its become a fun little joke in the movies, of course he isn't the greatest actor I've ever seen but he's done so much to popularize those stories I say why not? I'd rank his cameos cheesy fun I suppose.

All good:
Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein (well kinda cheesy)
Keith Richards as Sparrow's father in Pirates of the Caribbean Pt III
Rodney Dangerfield in Natural Born Killers
