Good performance, but probably only my fifth favorite in that film, behind George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and John Malkovich.

The moment that sold me Clooney being the best actor in the film was when Tilda Swinton mentions that he has chopped enough carrots after he has chopped an obtusely large pile of carrots and he replies, "You really are a negative person." Perfect comedic timing.

Agreed, McDormand was awesome. The way her eyes light up, she gets an inspired look on her face, and exclaims "The RUSSIANS!" was amazingly funny, and something that I still quote to anyone else who has watched the picture.
