Crazy Facts about Actors, Actresses, and Directors

I recently watched Fright Night. I described the movie in the following manner on Cinemageddon;

Teenager Charley notices that his next-door neighbor is a vampire, although it's unclear whether he became one before or after being married to Ripley for 12 years. Charley's girlfriend would later grow up to be a famous neighbor on a TV series, and come out as a lesbian, which explains why their make-out sessions never get very far! Charley enlists the help of one of the monkeys from Planet of the Apes to help him. As for Charley's friend Evil Ed, that warrants an entire section to itself...

(My mini-review)

Fun fact! The guy who plays Evil Ed turned to a different acting career as an adult. Namely, hardcore gay porn, starring in such immortal classics as Transexual Prostitutes, Guys who Crave Big Cocks, and of course, Butt Blazer.

***

While I found the other roles/biographical tidbits about Chris Sarandon, Amanda Bearse, and Roddy McDowall amusing, they pale in comparison to the information about Stephen Geoffreys. I was almost as entertained by finding out about that as I was from the movie itself!

Focus-

What are some utterly insane true stories about actors, actresses, or directors?

While filming Return of the King, Peter Jackson was giving direction to Christopher Lee about how he should play the scene where he is stabbed from behind. Christopher asked him if he knew what that would actually sound like, because he knew. He knew what it sounded like when you stab someone from behind because he had actually done it. Christopher Lee was part of the British Special Forces during World War II and evidently had to ice a few dudes.

So now there's two facts about actors that took a guy from behind.

Hedy Lamarr, an exceptionally beautiful leading lady during the Golden Age, was also a co-inventor of frequency-hopping spread-spectrum technology. It was created to make naval torpedoes more difficult to jam, but it is also the basis for technology such as Bluetooth and WiFi. I'm guessing most here probably knew this already, but it's fascinating enough to share for those who haven't. Her Wiki page for more detail.

Some guys broke into Dolph Lundgren's home and tied up his wife. When they saw a picture of whose owned the home they turned tail and fled because apparently a karate master with a 160 IQ is just that scary.

Just found out that Ione Skye (the chick from Say Anything) is the daughter of British folk legend Donovan!

Not especially crazy or mind-blowing, I know, but still cool.

Michael Bay got his start in film at 15 by working as an intern for George Lucas on Raiders of the Lost Ark.

This is why I didn't bother with an alarm system in my house, just Dolph Lundgren photoshopped into family photos. I've never had a problem.
