Chinese film - Chicago Film Fest
I saw this at the Chicago Internat'l Film Fest a few years back and I've never been able to identify it. I thought the title was "North of the Clouds" but there's a "South of the Clouds" and that was a romantic comedy, and this film certainly wasn't that. It's about an older man who's daughter and (spiked hair) boyfriend want to start a business with the old man's money. Somehow the old man gets into trouble and he's moved to some kind of camp, but amazingly at the end of the film he seems fulfilled there. It was a great movie. I just wish I had the title.

There are several films titled "South of the Clouds". Maybe you just looked up the wrong one.
I think this is the one you are looking for:
