Sci Fi flick from 50s/60s, Color movie

A bunch of blonde people live in a low-tech paradise. Every now and then a siren goes off and they walk like hypnotised zombies into a building. When enough people are inside, the doors close and the siren stops. The people on the outside go back to normal as if nothing happened and carry on reproducing. The people trapped inside are turned into food..until one day a guy shows up and recues them all.
