Orchestral scores not a necessity, obviously, but I've left out instances in which the director co-wrote lyrics, 'only' performed vocal duties, etc.

Synecdoche New York has songs written by Charlie Kaufman. That's the only one that comes to mind, I know David Lynch makes music but I don't think he's ever used any of it in one of his own films.
